Class Trips, Camps, Forest Schools

Have you planned a truly special and unique excursion for your class or are you preparing for a camp but don’t know where to go? We offer a “Dream Destination” for class trips, where even the chaperones can relax, as we take the load off their shoulders for a whole day. Here, all you need to do is arrive and enjoy everything that happens.

Our yurt camp is the most wonderful place for children, whether for a day or more. They can play and run around on a hectare of land while being close to horses, goats, and other animals. They can explore the yurts and gain insight into the world of our ancestors. Additionally, Szarvas offers many sights and tourist attractions, and we are here to assist in organizing the programs. So come and stay with us, be our guests!

In the camp

Incoming groups can play outdoors all day on the nearly 1-hectare area, utilizing the grassy sports field where we provide balls, shuttlecocks, frisbees, volleyballs, and nets. The younger children can enjoy the log playground, and it is worth exploring the traditional games area as well. Popular activities include tug-of-war, capture the flag, and singing and playing guitar around the campfire.

There is no group that does not want to participate in a time travel experience, where they can get a glimpse into the world of our ancestors. During a nearly 1-hour presentation, they will have the opportunity to learn about the yurt, the dwelling of our wandering ancestors.

We specifically recommend the care of the Fairy Garden, including vegetable and fruit harvesting, joint processing, and feeding and petting the animals, as well as collecting eggs, for forest school students. In the Old House, ponies, goats, rabbits, and chickens live and await petting and care.

The 70 sqm covered terrace is suitable for activities and competitions, and it is also where you can have meals together. Opposite the terrace, there is a stage for performances and practice by artistic groups, making our yurt camp an excellent venue for organizing specialized camps.

For one-day programs for visiting groups: 2000 HUF per person, and for local Szarvas groups: 1500 HUF per person. This includes the “Insight into Our Ancestors’ World” yurt presentation and all listed leisure activities available on the camp grounds.

Meals, Accommodation

We can naturally provide accommodation during multi-day excursions.

You can sleep on mattresses in round, insulated, original Mongolian yurts. (Own sleeping bag is required.) The 6-meter diameter yurts can comfortably accommodate 8-10 people. The communal yurt, which is 9 meters in diameter, can also be used for sleeping, accommodating up to 20 people at night.

This means that on a single day, 2-3 classes or 50-60 people can comfortably stay together, or in separate groups.

In the yurts, there is no electricity or heating, but these can be arranged for an additional fee if needed. We can also provide bed linens for an extra charge.

We provide bathroom facilities and cooking options for all campers, including options for cooking in a cauldron, on a stove, or in an oven. Additionally, three meals a day can be ordered from a nearby restaurant.

Upon request, we can prepare cauldron dishes and oven-baked bread on-site.

Useful information and advice for those staying with us:

  • The camp site features separate facilities for each gender, including washbasins, showers, and outdoor toilets.

  • In the yurts, we sleep on floor mats and use our own sleeping bags. We can provide bedding upon request, but availability is limited.

  • The yurts do not have electricity, so a flashlight or headlamp may be useful.

  • Meals can be enjoyed at several locations: the covered terrace, small benches, or around the fire pits.

  • Eating and drinking in the yurts is not allowed to avoid attracting ants and rodents.

  • The camp site does not have Wi-Fi or television, but there are plenty of other recreational activities available.

  • The drilled well is excellent for watering animals, but we recommend using your own bottled water or water from the nearby artesian well for human consumption.

  • As the Körös rivers meander around us, mosquitoes are a common sight, and ticks may also be present in the grass. It is advisable to take precautions against them.

  • Some options are available for an additional fee, such as firewood for the cauldron, bedding, and yurt heating. All other outdoor games and facilities are available free of charge.
